Does getting a tattoo hurt?
Yes, sure it does. How much it hurts depends on your personal pain disposition, which may even vary from day to day. And of course it depends on where the tattoo is stitched. The upper arm area is usually less sensitive while areas with a lot of nerves, thin skin and little muscle or fat tissue are usually considered more painful.
How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
You must be of legal age, that is 18 or above. If your are at least 16 years old you may be tattooed with the consent of your parents. Both parents need to come to the tattoo studio with you and must be able to identify themselves. If your are younger than 16 years old we cannot offer tattooing to you.
Why to I have to make a deposit?
We need to plan our tattooing schedule properly. If a customer does not show up at the agreed time we cannot fill in the vacant slot. This is annoying for us and in the end we loose money.
If for some reason you can not keep your appointment please let us know at least 48 hours in advance! In this case your deposit will be credited on an alternate appointment. If you do not cancel your appointment in time your deposit will be kept as compensation for the tattoo artist or the studio.
Unfortunately experience shows that this arrangement is required, as quite some customers "chicken out" without contacting us.
What formalities are required?
We need your written declaration of consent. Yo get this at the studio and it needs to be signed before we start tattooing.
In case you would like to signed the declaration of consent in advance feel free to download our PDF file here.
Can existing tattoos be tattooed over?
Yes, in general existing tattoos can be covered up. Depending on the size and type of your tattoo covering up can range from pretty easy to a most complex task for the tattoo artist, calling for precise planning and highest skills. Sometimes cover-up tatoos even end up as a masterpiece of art themselves.
May I drink alcohol before getting tattooed?
No, you don't. Alcohol will dilutes your blood. If your blood is diluted, your tattoo artist will have a hard time getting tattoo ink into your skin. The result will be a less beautiful and faded tattoo. Please do not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before tattoo appoeintment.
Please note that some drugs or medication like Aspirin™ also dilute your blood.
